Winter Youth Retreat: December 26 – 30, 2023

To the most Honorable Clergy, Church Executive Boards, and Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

With the blessing of His Grace, our Bishop Longin of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of New Gracanica Midwestern America, Diocesan Youth Department is delighted to announce the
upcoming annual Winter Youth Retreat: “Thy Will be Done: Living Out my Faith in Today’s Society.” The retreat will take place at the New Gračanica Monastery commencing on Tuesday, December 26th and concluding on Saturday, December 30th, 2023.

We extend a warm invitation to all Orthodox high school students who are interested in participating in a spiritually enriching
retreat that revolves around faith, fellowship, and enjoyment. This year’s retreat includes presentations and discussions on living out our faith in today’s society. Additionally, we extend an invitation to Orthodox college students who wish to dedicate themselves to serving Christ. College students can apply to be one of our “Serving Leaders” who will assist the Youth and Young Adults Director and planning committee by generously contributing your time and talents throughout the retreat, setting a shining example of Christian leadership.

To secure your place at the retreat, every participant is required to complete a registration form and submit a non-refundable registration fee of $240.00. Serving Leaders, as they are actively
involved in the daily activities, will only be required to pay a reduced registration fee of $120.00. Please note that registration is on a first come, first served basis and is limited to 75 attendees. We encourage those facing financial difficulties to reach out to their local parish for
potential assistance. If you are unable to obtain assistance through your parish, kindly contact Deacon Jovan Anicic. We kindly request all retreat participants to bring $20 cash for a charitable cause, which will be determined during the retreat. There will be no need for additional spending money unless you choose to make purchases in the monastery’s bookstore and gift shop. We eagerly anticipate this year’s retreat and express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support of our Diocesan Youth Department. May God be glorified through our efforts!

In Christ’s Service,

Protodeacon Jovan Anicic, PhD
