Christ is Risen!
The Diocese of New Gracanica – Midwestern America is pleased to share encouraging news about the upcoming renovation of the St. Mardarije Spiritual and Cultural Center (monastery konak/camp building) at Saint Sava Monastery in Libertyville, Illinois.

After a diligent and prayerful planning and design process, our general contractor has submitted the finalized renovation plans for county approval. As we await the necessary permits, we now enter the next vital phase—fundraising for this important project.
In anticipation of this work, His Eminence Metropolitan Longin appointed a Steering Committee to oversee and guide the renovation. The committee includes:
Bishop Serafim, Fr. Nikolaj Kostur, Fr. Petar Sailovic, Aleksandar Lazic, Nada Savatic, Gina Showers, Sam Starcevich Jr., Aleksandra Starcevich, Nina Starcevich, Vicki Dorsey, Ryan Dorsey, Marko and Danielle Vorkapich, Brian and Teena Less, and Sava and Valerie Vojcanin.
In the weeks and months ahead, members of this committee may reach out to visit your parish, either at a board meeting or broader parish gathering, to share more detailed information about the project and how each community can take part in this blessed effort.
Together, let us restore and renew this vital center of Serbian Orthodox spirituality in America, honoring the legacy of Saint Mardarije and strengthening our spiritual life for generations to come.
Through the prayers of Saint Mardarije of Libertyville, may the Lord bless this endeavor and all who support it.
