Paschal Joy in Chicago: Hierarchical Celebration at the Holy Resurrection Cathedral

The “Feast of Feasts” was celebrated with profound solemnity and immense joy at the Cathedral this year. The radiant services of Holy Pascha brought together a vast multitude of the faithful, underscoring the vibrant spiritual life of our diocesan center.

The Resurrection Services

On Pascha, the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Grace Bishop Serafim. The Cathedral was well attended, filled with parishioners eager to share in the communal triumph of life over death. During the service, His Grace read the Patriarchal Paschal Encyclical, sharing the paternal words and blessings of His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch with the gathered assembly.

The Tonsuring of Reader Jovan Milunovic

With the blessings of His Eminence Metropolitan Longin, and by the hand of Bishop Serafim, Jovan Milunovic was tonsured into the rank of Reader.

Reader Jovan is the son of Protopresbyter Dobrivoje and Protinica Jelena Milunovic. The diocese offers its congratulations to the Milunovic family and prays that the Risen Lord strengthens Reader Jovan in his dedicated service to the Holy Church.

A Sincere Thank You to the Branko Radichevich Choir

The beauty of the Holy Week and Pascha services was greatly enhanced by the Branko Radichevich Cathedral Choir. Under the expert direction of Jelena Stojakovic, the choir demonstrated exceptional talent and effort. Their prayerful execution of the complex liturgical hymns provided a majestic backdrop to the Paschal celebrations. We offer our sincere thanks to the choir members for their tireless dedication throughout the Lenten season and the Bright Resurrection.

Paschal Banquet and Fellowship

Following the Liturgy, the joy of the feast moved from the nave to the social hall for a well-attended Easter Slava Banquet. The success of the event was made possible by the diligent work of the organizing crew, led by Executive Board Treasurer Gordana Savcic, along with the support of the entire Executive Board and many dedicated parishioners.

We wish a blessed and radiant Pascha to all our parishioners and the entire diocesan family.

Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!
