A Day of Prayer, Fellowship, and Christian Service
On Sunday, October 12, 2025, the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago had the great honor of welcoming His Grace Bishop Serafim, who prayerfully celebrated the Divine Liturgy surrounded by clergy, faithful, and youth of the parish.
The Liturgy was served in a spirit of deep reverence and unity, as the congregation gathered to receive the Bishop’s blessing and to offer prayers for the Marko Niketić Foundation 5K Walk/Run, which took place later that afternoon.
In his moving homily, Bishop Serafim spoke about the Christian calling to love, serve, and remember one another in humility and gratitude. He reminded the faithful that faith finds its fullest expression in acts of compassion and service to others — especially when done in memory of those who have gone before us.
Following the Divine Liturgy, His Grace joined the clergy, parishioners, and many young participants at the 5K Walk/Run, offering his prayerful support and words of encouragement. His presence was a source of joy and inspiration, affirming that every good deed, no matter how small, becomes an offering of love before God.
The Diocese expresses its sincere gratitude to His Grace Bishop Serafim for his pastoral care, heartfelt sermon, and tireless dedication to the spiritual life of our parishes.
May the Lord grant His Grace many blessed years in health, peace, and fruitful ministry!
