Metropolitan Longin’s Visit to St. Petka Church in Vratnica: A Blessing for the Continuation of Iconography Work

On November 23, 2024, Metropolitan Longin visited St. Petka Church in Vratnica, Troy, Michigan, to review the progress of the iconography work. On this occasion, the bishop expressed his satisfaction with the work completed so far and emphasized the importance of adorning the church to preserve the spiritual and cultural identity of the community.

The iconography project began in 2007 when the church dome was painted by iconographer Mr. Miloje Milenković from Belgrade. The work was resumed in 2016 by iconographer Mr. Milorad Cvetković from Niš. The bishop blessed the artist, wishing him success in completing this important project, which will make St. Petka Church even more magnificent and enhance its spiritual beauty.

The work is expected to be completed during 2025.
