Archbishop Peter serves at Cathedral to show support and extend condolences to the Serbian People

On Sunday, November 22, 2020, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Longin, His Eminence Archbishop Peter of Chicago and Mid-America served Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago, Illinois.  Archbishop Peter ha expressed his desire to serve in the Cathedral in order to extend his sincerest sympathies on the passing of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, who reposed in the Lord on Friday, November 20, 2020.  At the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence served a memorial service (pomen) for the newly-reposed Patriarch Irinej, and on behalf of his Diocese, extended his sincerest condolences and prayers to the Serbian Church and people.  In his words of sympathy, Archbishop Peter spoke of Patriarch Irinej’s wise leadership of the Serbian Orthodox Church over the last ten years, as well as his worthy service as a successor to St. Sava.
May the memory of our dear Serbian Patriarch Irinej be eternal, and may our Lord establish his soul in the Heavenly Kingdom!
