On January 7, 2025, Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago was honored to welcome His Eminence Metropolitan Longin, who presided over the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy for the joyous feast of the Nativity of Christ.

Serving alongside His Eminence were:

  • Very Rev. Darko Spasojevic, Cathedral Dean
  • Very Rev. Stavrophor Dobrivoje Milunovic
  • Rev. Nikolaj Kostur
  • Protodeacon Milovan Gogic

The celebration brought together a large number of faithful, who filled the cathedral with prayer, joy, and gratitude as they marked the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In his homily, Metropolitan Longin offered heartfelt greetings and spiritual encouragement to the congregation, reminding everyone of the profound meaning of Christ’s birth and the love of God manifest in His incarnation. He called upon the faithful to continue their journey of faith with dedication, love, and unity.

The Cathedral community is deeply grateful to His Eminence Metropolitan Longin for his visit, as well as to the clergy and all who contributed to making this feast day a truly memorable and spiritually uplifting event.

Hristos se Rodi! Vaistinu se Rodi!
(Christ is Born! Truly He is Born!)

May the blessings of the Nativity bring peace, joy, and love to all!
